Party You Up [BEMANI]

When I finished this drawing, I noticed that it had a very distinct odor. It wasn't the bad kind of smelly; I could best describe the scent as this:
The sweet smell of improvement. Actually, more like a mix between the smell of improvement and that of SigSig's flower.  

There are just so many things about this piece that I'm proud of: first of all, I tried drawing the eyes with a bit of a different shape than usual...I call this new shape "cheeky eyes". I think I'm going to draw eyes like this a lot more; I'm a huge fan of how they came out!  This new eye style was inspired by ^^ Secondly, THE SHADING. Honestly, I think the girls here look the most 3-D out of anything I've ever drawn before...the shading isn't as soft here, and it really made the difference. 

This drawing wouldn't have even been made if it weren't for ; thank you so much for reminding me that these girls' birthday is today and not tomorrow! Of course, I HAD to tag you no matter what because I know they're your precious babies and I ALWAYS think of you when I see them... 

So, for those of you who don't know who's who, Smooooch is the girl with the big hair buns and the puffy (water-filled...? At least in 's headcanon, yes...) tutu, and SigSig is the one with the flower in her hair and the Asian-inspired attire  

I'm honestly wondering why KONAMI decided to give them the same birthday. I know SigSig's is today due to Japanese wordplay where "4/9" can be pronounced as "shigu", or "Sig", but why Smooooch? Maybe it's because their songs are so closely-related... 

Did I mention the title of this piece was based on another song by kors k, the artist of Smooooch and SigSig's songs? The "Party You Up" song actually features vocal samples famously used in kors k's Candy Rave and Makina songs like smooooch and SigSig.  

I also forgot to mention that this was my first time drawing SigSig. Her hair was rather tricky for me to perfect...Alright, I confess that I used the Pugyutto plush of her as my reference.

Once again, happy birthday to SigSig and Smooooch!
