Today's The Big Day! [Pop'n Music]

~Celebrating 18 Years of Pop'n Music: 1998-2016~
Calling all Pop'n Music fans! Can you believe that 18 years ago today, the first-ever Pop'n Music arcade game was released? It started off small, but look at what it's grown into today - with 23 games in the series (and with this: pbs.twimg.com/media/CtcCduTVYA…, quite soon to be 24!) and a total of OVER 700 different characters, Pop'n Music has surely come a long way!

The character in the foreground is, if you aren't familiar with him, MZD. He's not just a DJ, but also the "Pop'n God" - an "eternal boy" who created the music-and-sound-powered Pop'n World. Isn't it so fitting that MZD's birthday is on the day the Pop'n Music series first came out, considering he's the Pop'n God?    

The outfits for Mimi, Nyami, and MZD in this image were all designed by me and inspired by the color scheme of Pop'n Music arcade machines. And yes, Nyami is holding an Alt hand puppet because I can't celebrate the 18-year anniversary of my favorite franchise without putting the character I'm obsessed with into the drawing I did to celebrate.
